Casita Maria’s new executive director comes to Hunts Point with an extensive resume that includes policy and community initiatives abroad, as well as locally.
“Barrios” features the work of the Seis del Sur photographers collective, and will run until March 16 at the King of Juan
Carlos 1 of Spain Center, 53 Washington Park South. It is free and open to the public
weekdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
By encouraging photography of Bronx scenes and organizing free exhibitions at which to display the resulting work, the group seeks to improve residents’ appreciation of their borough.
The Laundromat Project, a citywide non-profit cultural arts organization, held its annual Field Day last month with the residents of Hunts Point in the Kelly Street Garden as a way to start a new tradition and bring back unity into the neighborhood.
