Councilman hosts COVID vaccine registration pop-up

On Thursday, Apr. 1, City Councilman  COVID-19 Vaccine Registration Pop-Up Event; at Councilman Rafael Salamanca’s district office, 1070 Southern Boulevard between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Free Covid-19 Testing will also be offered.

Salamanca is teaming with the New York City Health + Hospitals and the New York City Test & Trace Corps for the event. As part of the registration event, at which staff from those organizations will help those eligible to schedule vaccination appointments at several vaccination sites throughout the Bronx.

“In communities like mine that have disproportionately felt the impacts of COVID, we need to make sure we are reducing the technical or language barriers that many Bronxites experience when attempting to make a vaccination appointment, said Salamanca. “Pop-up events like this go directly to the people who need it most, helping them navigate the complex online registration portal.”,

New Yorkers 30 and older are now eligible for the vaccine, joining those with underlying health conditions, and many public-facing employees.

Free Covid testing will also be offered on a walk-in only basis, and free of charge. No appointments are needed. All test results will remain confidential.
