A homeless winter in Hunts Point

A video team followed a homeless man as he made the rounds in Hunts Point, trying to stay warm during the coldest February in the city in over 60 years.

A frigid February took its toll on the homeless in Hunts Point.

This February was the coldest in New York City in over a half-century. Mother Nature was particularly unkind to those without a home, like Adrian Greene, who has spent parts of the last two years staying at the Living Room, a shelter located on Barretto Street in Hunts Point.

Eline van Leeuwe and Lisa Hissink, two photojournalists from the Netherlands, followed Greene during the record-breaking month as he sought out spots in the neighborhood to thaw out in the afternoon when city shelters close their doors.
